Guide to navigating the Colloquy source code and building it.

Step By Step Guide to Building Colloquy

Colloquy's source code is open source and publicly available. Colloquy is released under the GPL version 2 license [1]. Please understand the terms of this license before using Colloquy's source for any other projects.

Step 1:

Install Xcode either by downloading from http://developer.apple.com/ or install the package from your Xcode Tools CD (You need version 2.2 of Xcode, which by the way, means you'll need OS X 10.4.x).

Step 2:

Install Subversion from DarwinPorts, Fink or by using the official installer package.

Step 3:

Download a copy from the Subversion repository. In the OS X terminal type the following:

/usr/local/bin/svn co !http://source.colloquy.info/colloquy/trunk

If you installed it in /usr/local/bin, which you may not have done. Alternatively, type which svn to locate your subversion binary.

Step 4:

Download and install the latest version of F-Script. (F-Script is a powerful SmallTalkish scripting language that uses the Cocoa frameworks.)

Step 5:

Open the Colloquy project and Build.
