#94 new Enhancement
sort rooms according to auto join list in connection info
Reported by: | Sean | Owned by: | timothy |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | Colloquy (Mac) | Version: | 2.1 (Mac) |
Severity: | Normal | Keywords: | autoconnect room reordering tab drag drop |
Cc: | grahamperrin |
Description (last modified by rinoa)
Go to Window > Connections and get info on irc.freenode.net for example. Add 2 or more rooms in the "Automatic" tab and then try to move them up or down. You can not change the order of them, if you want to do that you'll have to delete them and re-add them in the order you want to connect.
What I would like is being able to arrange them in the same way you arrange Safari bookmarks (by dragging them to the order you want).

these all relate to sorting the sidebar:
a) #94 requests sorting according to auto join list (what about rooms joined through other means though?)
b) #362 requests sorting rooms according to connection
c) #456 suggests using a text file or a list in the app of some sort to define room sorting
d) #552 wants to sort panels according to type (consoles first, then rooms, then private chats)
c) #956 Make tabs (channels/messages) remember their position

Folks, I just started using this app to bring myself back into the IRC world. It's great, however I'm boggled why channels are unable to keep ordering/arrangement in the left pane. As the channel is the line of communication, it only seems natural to keep their order (which the user defines) in the left pane between application restarts. Currently, a user can order the channels, however the user has multiple IRC connections (as many of us do) everything gets unordered and messy when restarting the app. I know this is an open project, however really hope someone can clear this interface up because every other part of Colloquy's interface is perfect. Thanks
