#911 closed Defect (Works for Me)

Pause when input box wraps lines

Reported by: aneel Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.1 (Mac)
Severity: Normal Keywords: input beachball

When there is a lot of scrollback, Colloquy pauses for about 10s before expanding the input box to accommodate long lines. This happens each time the line wraps, so if I type enough to need three lines in the input box, it pauses at the beginning of the second line and again at the beginning of the third. When pasting enough text to require multiple lines, there is only one pause. A beachball cursor is shown briefly during the pause, and the app is unresponsive throughout.

Clearing the scrollback by leaving the channel and rejoining fixes the problem.

I'm using Tabbed Windows with the Standard theme if that's relevant.

This seems to not be an issue anymore. I can't repro with a huge scroll back, at least. If it still is, feel free to reopen.
