#84 new Defect

AS: A way to request idle time for the machine

Reported by: brennan@… Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.1 (Mac)
Severity: Normal Keywords: idle time
Cc:

Description

Seems like 'idle time' (property of chat user) is always returning 0.0!

tell application "Colloquy"
	tell connection 1
		tell chat room "#colloquy"
			idle time of chat users
		end tell
	end tell
end tell

This must be a new bug, I remember getting more meaningful values before. (You may remember my idle time contextual menu script from a week ago).

ah, this may be because I have to refresh information first... BUT, surely I should be able to get (idle time of local user) without calling refresh.

  • Summary changed from AS: idle time of chat users is always 0.0 !?!?! to AS: (idle time of local user) requires 'refresh information'

(Changed the summary of this ticket to give it more appropriate focus)
It would be nice if colloquy would 'refresh information' on all chat users when joining a chat room, so that there is at least one refresh.

  • Summary changed from AS: (idle time of local user) requires 'refresh information' to AS: A way to request idle time for the machine
  • Version changed from 2.0 (2D9) to Latest 2.1

Local users is no different than remote users because we are returning the idle time that the server reports. We do plan to add a way to get the current machines idle time.
