#783 closed Defect (Works for Me)

Improper URL encoding when clicking a link using non-ASCII

Reported by: Allan Odgaard Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.1 (Mac)
Severity: Blocker Keywords:
Cc:

Description

Someone pasted this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Döner_kebab in a channel set to UTF-8.

When copying/clicking the link, Colloquy treats it as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%9Aner_kebab

The correct encoding of the link (IRI) would have been http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%B6ner_kebab

This seems to be working now.

  • Resolution worksforme deleted
  • Status changed from closed to reopened
  • Version changed from 2.0 (2D16) to Latest 2.1

i still see the behavior described by allan, both on a server:latin1/channel:utf8 and on a server:utf8/channel:utf8 connection

I don't think this is a Colloquy bug then. I think it is WebKit? messing up, and it is fixed in newer versions of WebKit?.
