#618 closed Defect (Fixed)

Character encoding only half works

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.0 (Mac)
Severity: Minor Keywords: character encoding japanese

When you set the encoding for the channel, the channel name in the tab is still scrambled. Also, the channel names in the join channel list are completely scrambled, and when you type /join #channel, it isn't in the default encoding, causing you to join another channel using a different encoding.

Is it possible you could have Colloquy use the encoding set in the preference pane for joining channels and displaying channel names in the channel search list box as well as the channel tabs?

BTW, this is for the ISO-2022-JP character encoding specifically.

There is another encoding, the connection encoding. Get Info on the connection and change the encoding to ISO-2022-JP. This will affect channel names and nicknames (since those are in the connection space). Colloquy will use the default encoding when creating new connections, but it will not affect already created connections.
