#523 closed Enhancement (Won't Fix)

Option to enable console when receiving a Notify from the IRC network

Reported by: Josefin Ek <tigressesuede@…> Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.0 (Mac)
Severity: Minor Keywords:

When you receive messages from the network they go to console if you had it open, or is shown in growl notifications.

I would love to see the console open for such messages as an option so that I could read the message when I got back in its entirety. Preferably if the option to send server messages to a new console window is enabled, a further option to adjust whether to see further notifies in growl or not.

  • Resolution set to wontfix

We will not be implementing this, for the console would always be popping open and would be kind of annoying for most users. A work-around we might be adding is making sure the console is always 'logging' even if it isn't open, so that way you can open it and see what has been done.

  • priority changed from normal to low
  • Resolution wontfix deleted
  • Severity changed from major to minor
  • Status changed from closed to reopened

That would be great. A constant frustration is receiving network alerts and not be able to read more than the growl alert just because i forgot to turn the console on.

Another option could have been to set a checkbox in each networks profile to optionally allow opening the console, once, when you connect to that network?

Opening on connect is a hidden preference. It will be unhidden soon enough.
