#445 closed Enhancement (Won't Fix)

"Groups" for queries

Reported by: ScottM Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.0 (Mac)
Severity: Minor Keywords:

Description

Perhaps it would be useful if Colloquy could create a meta-group or virtual group where /queries could be dragged and dropped, so as to save screen real estate when in drawer mode. The scrollbar is okay but with a lot of channels on a lot of servers and a lot of individual /queries, it might be nice to allow the user to group them together in some fashion.

Such a group could be collapsable, the same way a channel userlist is collapsable. When a new privmsg appears within that query, the group icon could get the dark balloon indicating new text, and clicking on the group could expand the group and take the user to the /query with the appropriate user, or they could manually expand and select the right session etc.

I don't want to have to turn my 23" cinema display sideways... ;-)

I like the idea, but I don't really see it being used (and I don't see timothy actually adding it) so we're not going to fix this. You CAN open a new window and put all the queries in the separate window.
