#401 closed Defect (Works for Me)

Can't add to Buddy List

Reported by: thraxisp at magma dot ca Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.2 (Mac)
Severity: Major Keywords:

I have a buddy defined on with a name like "foo_". He is now signing on with a name of "foo" and I'd like to add this name. If I select him in the drawer and "Add to Buddy List", a new entry is created with the same name and old nickname. I also can't add the name to the buddy becayse the "+" button is greyed out.

If you go to your Buddy List, and get info on the user. Select the server you're buddy is in(you must do this) and then double click 'foo_' then replace it with 'foo'.
IF you want to keep 'foo_', and add 'foo'. Get info on the user via the Buddy List, and select the server again. Now you can press the + button in the Info window of the buddy, and add 'foo' to it as well.
This interface will likely improve later.

I'd love to, but the "+" button is greyed out. See the screen shot. I can't seem to activate it by clicking anywhere on the panel.

I see what you're doing wrong, and I gave proper directions in my above comment. In your screenshot, you dont have ANY server selected. Select the server in the Chat Server drop down in the Buddy Info window(looks to me like you need to select as the server), then the + button will not be grayed out anymore.
