Description

Colloquy should use IM field in AddressBook? for storing irc nicks

Currently Colloquy stores this information in a hidden field, or perhaps in the comments. Much better OS X integration (including Sync support!) would be achieved if this was done via the existing address book IM fields.

We cannot do that. Address book doesn't give us the support we need. Hopefully, one day we can do this. But as of now, we're unable to.

Sure it does. AddressBook? won't display fields that it doesn't recognize. But that doesn't mean you can't create them. You can insert any arbitrary label or type on a MultiValue?, AddressBook? won't care. If you use a "standard" type of "irc" other clients could also read this value. This value would get sync'd across machines, and other instances of Colloquy could read it.

It is already stored as a hidden pref in Address Book
