#2476 closed Defect (Duplicate)

Chat Room Invite Denial of Service

Reported by: myantispamctrl@… Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.3 (Mac)
Severity: Critical Keywords: DOS, DDOS, Attack, Deny, Chat, Request
Cc:

Description

While using Colloquy I receive about 20+ simultaneous invites to join a chat. This causes the program to lock up and I must force quit the application to get back on IRC.

You need to have an option to block all chat invitations.

This is primarily used as a DOS attack.

Even if you accept incoming chats across the board, it would simply fill up the chat lists until the programs locks up.

If you could add an ability to only accept chat requests from those on your buddy list, or disable chat requests across the board, that would be nice.

Dupe of #1042. And I'm in the middle of fixing this problem.
