Link text replaced with URLs when copy/pasting from browser

When copying and pasting some text that contains a link from a browser into a Colloquy chat field, the linked text appears as links in the field, which is odd. But even worse, when the text is sent, Colloquy replaces the linked text with the URLs of the links. It seems this behavior is not always consistent, but I've found that, if you go to a Wikipedia article and copy a chunk of text with links, that will work. For example, I pasted a sentence from the current front page of Wikipedia that contained many links. The expected result was…

This is default Mac OS X behavior -- if you paste with Shift-Cmd-V instead (Paste and Match Style), URLs will not be expanded.
