#2028 closed Defect (Fixed)

search in Google contextual menu doesn't respect default browser

Description

Hi. When I right click on a selection made in the chat window and select the topmost "Search in Google" item it always opens in Safari even when the default browser is Chrome. The bottom equivalent which is the result of the "Google.scpt" in Colloqyt.app/Contents/Plugins does however respect the default browser though given the menu items say the exact same thing it does get confusing.

Confirmed on 4791 nightly. 10.6.2.

The "top" uses Safari and Safari only. As indicated above, if you set the default http handler (via safari or something like rcdefaults the prefpane), it does not respect this and wants to use Safari. The one on the bottom does respect this, making it great for something like Choose Wisely.
