#1787 closed Enhancement (Fixed)

Mobile ZNC module pushes with an active, connected client

Reported by: JonnyFunFun Owned by: kiji.roshi
Component: Colloquy (iOS) Version: 1.1 (iOS)
Severity: Minor Keywords: znc push
Cc: alex.alexander@…

Description

When using a ZNC bouncer, the Colloquy module pushes all messages to the iPhone even if an active desktop client is connected. This makes it rather annoying to even use a desktop IRC client at all when coupled with the bouncer. I feel that this might be bothersome to most users. Please visit my website for a detailed explanation and my modification to the module's code which works for me: http://www.jonnyfunfun.com/2009/08/26/colloquy-mobile-and-znc-pushing-even-when-im-connected/

This is a good idea, however, it should be optional, not always on. Some people may leave their computer's on all the time, but still want push notifications for when they are away from it.

Also, someone went and created a github repo for the plugin, if you want to add an option and send a pull request: http://github.com/wired/colloquypush/tree/master

  • Cc alex.alexander@… added

This is fixed in latest commit in colloquypush git repo:

http://github.com/wired/colloquypush/commit/e678ca8ba9b3515dc8bfabeb7a6f258e6b8665e8

To disable push when another client is attached you just need to add this argument
-attachedpush 0
to znc's colloquy :)
