#1773 new Enhancement

Idle Timer in Bouncer Should Be Reset After Talking Through Bouncer

Reported by: kakos Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Bouncer) Version:
Severity: Normal Keywords: bouncer

The problem I have been running into is that I run the Colloquy Bouncer on a MacMini? which never sees any actual use and just acts as a server for my home network. I connect to the Bouncer through my other computers and use IRC that way. However, I found that the Bouncer was always pushing notifications to my iPhone, even when I was actively talking on IRC. NoOneButMe? notified me that the idle timer for the Bouncer is based on system idle time; since the MacMini? is never used directly, it always appears to be idle.

NoOneButMe? suggested that when you send a message through the Bouncer, it resets the idle time. This way, when you are actively engaging in IRC, it doesn't appear to be idle.
