#1508 new Defect

Certain right-click menu buttons alias in obnoxious ways when they change

Reported by: MasterBismuth@… Owned by: timothy
Component: Colloquy (Mac) Version: 2.2 (Mac)
Severity: Trivial Keywords: operator kick ban alias

Here is a scenario that should adequately summarize the defect. If one right-clicks a user's name with the intention to grant operator status, one might inadvertently end up kicking and banning that user, should a bot or another user grant them operator status first. This is because when a user is granted operator status, the right-click menu for their user name changes, and the position of the "operator" button shifts away from the location of the mouse. In its place, the kick & ban button appears. Suffice to say, that is a rather annoying aliasing problem, and is a difficult accident to justify to folks when one has seemingly issued an arbitrary kick and ban.

the problem is menu items that have an alternate version, like "kick"/"kick…": both versions are added to the context menu when it refreshes after the op mode change
